At BookSprocket, philanthropy is a core component of our culture. Our founders have a rich history of giving back to the arts and cultural organizations serving children in poor communities around the world. A portion of sales from The Cultured Chef will be donated to our non-profit partner in San Pedro la Laguna, Guatemala.

Ayudame a Pintar Mi Futuro was developed by two Guatemalan painters to aid these women with food and clothing for their children, and for the children to have a chance to draw and paint—thus learning to express themselves and their feelings, and increase their self-esteem.

Classes in drawing and paintings are given every Saturday morning, a small meal is provided, and on occasion the children are treated to an excursion, a barbecue, or other special event.  Every month the mothers are provided with a basket of basic foodstuffs, and when possible with children's clothing items and/or school supplies.
